NCA Monthly Meeting

 

The Northlake Community Alliance will hold its monthly meeting on September 17, 2010 at 7:30 pm at our offices, 2302 Parklake Drive, Suite 214, Atlanta, Ga, 30345.  The doors to the office building are locked at 6 pm but someone is posted at the door from 7:15 - 7:40.  If you arrive after that time, please call 770-596-5979 and we will send someone to let you in.

Community Shred Day, Resurgens Bank Parking lot, 2300 Henderson Mill Rd, 9:00am til 12:00 pm, October 30.  Bring those old files/statements for safe disposal. Free with donations to NCA Requested.

General Announcements

Be sure and check out the update, July 21, 2010 on the Forming CID page on this website, for the latest efforts to create a Northlake CID.

  

Please note that the latest plans for the intersection improvements for Frazier Rd at Lavista Rd, and Oak Grove Rd. at Lavista Rd, can be found on this website under "Plans and Schedules".  The schedule for their completion in not known at this point.

 
 

1.  The Northlake Overlay Zone Ordinance is available for review on the "Downloads" section of this Website.  Also included is the "Tiers" map and the Northlake Development Standards associated with the ordinance.  This ordinance was approved by the Board of Commissioners on May 20th, 2008. It provides a strong tool for controlling development and keeping out unwanted uses.  It also has architectural, development, and signage controls. 

2.  Phase 2 of Northlake streetscape work is being designed currently by Pond &Co Engineers (see "Plans and Schedules" to see the concept plan.) A Transportation Enhancement Grant been awarded from US DOT in the amount of $475,000 plus the county match of $95,000, for a total of $570,000.  Additionally, the project will receive approximately $600,000 from funds returned to ARC by MARTA (advanced to them during their financial crisis earlier this year).These funds will be used to continue streetscape work on Briarcliff Rd., Henderson Mill Rd., Northlake Parkway, Parklake Dr. and Ranchwood Rd..  Most of this loop borders Northlake Mall and only one side of these roads will be constructed at this time.  Construction should begin in the Spring of, 2011.

NCA is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization that relies on donations from the community, both business and civic, for supporting projects and programs provided to the area.  We gladly accept monetary donations to help us buy signs, volunteer t-shirts, and office supplies.  Since no one at NCA receives compensation, 100% of your donations goes to work for the community.  Please send your tax exempt donation to the Northlake Community Alliance, Inc. at the mailing address found on the "About NCA" page on this website.
